FOG

An unprecedented convergence.

For the first time, two of Los Angeles' most original dance voices — Ate9 and Jacob Jonas The Company — share a split bill on a traditional stage at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

Danielle Agami returns to her home city with a world premiere for Ate9, created with a new cast and accompanied live by composer Yuka Honda.

Jacob Jonas presents GRIP — a new trio exploring pressure, protection, and the emotional systems we hold beneath the surface. With original music performed live by Live Footage.

Fog forms when conditions meet just right. When warmth hits cold, when what’s seen is briefly obscured, so something deeper can be felt.

This evening is about that convergence. A slowing down. A sharpening of sensation. A collective breath before something shifts.

We call this night: FOG
You’re invited.

Danielle Agami returns to Los Angeles with a world premiere for ate9 called SOON AFTER, an intimate and raw stage gathering exploring the remnants of humanity as a kid, a mother, a wife, a husband and an angel arrive on new planet.

Created and performed with a new cast, Billy Barry, Gianni Notarnicole and Omri Drumlevich, with Danielle Agami, the dancers are accompanied by live music—an original score by composer Yuka Honda—offering light in the shadows through wonder and grace, admitting to each character that they wouldn't have life any other way.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

About ate9

Founded in 2012, ate9 has emerged as a laboratory for movement innovation and artistic exploration. Founder and choreographer Danielle Agami drew from a rich career at the Batsheva Dance Company as a dancer, and later as a ballet mistress. She then launched ate9, first in Seattle, then in Los Angeles, creating a repertoire of over eight complete works and numerous site-specific performances.

The company has collaborated with leading institutions such as LA Philharmonic, REDCAT, and CAP UCLA, as well as with prominent artists including Wilco percussionist Glenn Kotche and Emmy award-winning actor Jon Hamm. Recognized for her original approach and dynamism, Danielle Agami has received awards such as the Virginia B. Toulmin Fellowship and the Princess Grace Award, further cementing her influence in the field of contemporary dance.

In 2024, ate9 began a new chapter expanding its reach with bases in New-York and Paris with co-artistic directors Georgina Pazcoguin and Adrien Delépine. The company continues to evolve and broaden the company’s foot print in Europe. @ate9_dance
